Technical outcomes

Exhibition photographs :
Kubus_ZKM is a concert and acoustic recording room. Large, totally dark, and phonetically isolated, it is an ideal place to exhibit Beyond-Round.

Kubus lighted, outside moments of interaction. The cylindrical screen and the computer (on the table) are put in the same room. Chairs can be used by viewers that would like to stay and look at the interaction from the inside of the cylinder.

Kubus in darkness, screen being tested. Corridor to access Kubus.

According to the viewer's behaviour, colors vary and can become very intense, or on the contrary stay in the grey tones.

Technical outcomes :

Each exhibition of Beyond-Round let me improve the interaction, according to my observation of the diverse interacting spectators' behaviours. Thanks to the ZKM exhibition I simplified in a more sensitive way the 'Slow tango' phase. Similarly, variations of the final contemplative phase were expanded in time.

Thanks to Bernd Lintermann, screen calibration was ideally made : the image runs on the cylinder, from one projector to the other, seamless, either vertically or horizontally. The camera settings were simplified by Didier Bouchon.

A new and lighter helmet (resin, fast prototype) was conceived by Zandrine Chiri (Interface-Z).
