Other exhibition photographs
For this 4th Beyond-Round exhibition, after more than
ten years of development and use,
Interface-Z made the sensor (helmet
on the participant's head) and the treatment box totally new. A charger
foot allows to charge batteries without opening the helmet.
NB : Because of the darkness needed for the interaction and of the mobile
and fleeting characteristics of the image, the interactive installation
Beyond-Round is very dificult to document : photographies do not
match the interaction subtlety at all.
Beyond-Round in the gallery :
For the installation to be in darkness and to preserve its intimacy, Beyond-Round is located in the back of the ground floor, behind the stairs leading to the first floor, which is partially lit.
Beyond-Round cylindrical screen appears in the back of the space. In the foreground, placed in black angled bases, we can see Alexandra Mitlyanskaïa video art pieces.
Beyond-Round cylindrical screen, seen before lights extinction, from aside and from beneath the stairs.

Opening
NB : Flash light changes the piece perception and masks the image.
One viewer is interacting while others observe. Sit, they thus do not interfere with his/her movement nor with his/her peripheral perception.
A ground outline, in the screen center, shows the viewer where to stand.

Interaction
After having vanished, the image (re)appears aside, inciting the viewer to turn to see it better. It escapes then his/her gaze, and disappears, in various ways, according to the scenario and the viewer's behavior.
Once the viewer has understood he/she has not to move or - or to move slowly - to see the image, he/she can center his/her gaze on it and modulate colors with his/her micro-movements.
